Vehicle Interdiction Instructor

The Vehicle Interdiction (VI) Instructor Course is an intensive three-day (24-hour), reality-based program designed to prepare law enforcement instructors to safely and effectively manage vehicle-related encounters.

Training integrates weapons employment in and around vehicles, vehicle ballistics, defensive tactics, breaching, use of cover, suspect extraction, and vehicle approach methods. Students apply these principles through a live ballistics laboratory and dynamic drills involving vehicle egress, movement to cover, unconventional shooting positions, glass disruption and extraction, seatbelt removal, and single-officer and tandem-officer procedures.
