Flagship Defensive Tactics System
Instructor Development
Vanguard is our comprehensive defensive tactics system for certified law enforcement, corrections, military police, and security professionals. Vanguard One and Two addresses common situations criminal justice professionals face in the line of duty utilizing simple, safe, field-proven, book-documented and court-defensible skills.
Training elements include: defense against common grabs, headlocks, bear hugs, knife attacks, tackles, ground attacks and controlling a grounded subject from the top.
Training elements include: Escorts and takedowns, vehicle extractions, handcuffing, frisk and search, striking, baton, handgun, and long gun retention and disarming.
Initial instructor certification and 24-hour recertification options are available for both Vanguard levels.
Corrections-Focused Defensive Tactics
Instructor Development
The COR-Tactics Program was developed upon the request of the Tennessee Corrections Institute (TCI). With the guidance of TCI, we developed a defensive tactics program to meet the unique needs of the Corrections Officer/Jailer. This program addresses a variety of issues, scenarios, and situations relevant to the safety of the officers and inmates.
Close-Quarters Survival Training
Instructor Development
This program addresses the defensive and justifiable use of an edged weapon by a criminal justice professional. It also covers practical, straightforward, hands-on knife defense skills. Officers are educated on fixed-blade and folding knives, opening and locking mechanisms, blade profiles, knife grinds, carry methods, drawing, handling, and much more.
Women’s Self-Defense Instructor Program
Community Instructor Development
The Equalizer Women’s Self-Defense Instructor Program combines personal safety and residential security education with practical physical self-defense training. Instruction addresses common grabs, headlocks, bear hugs, knife attacks, tackles, and ground attacks, helping women develop practical skills to better prepare for and respond to dangerous situations.
