The Equalizer Women’s Self-Defense Instructor Program prepares law enforcement, corrections, security, and education professionals to teach women practical strategies for personal safety, residential security, and physical self-defense. Built on principles and techniques developed through SSGT’s defensive tactics programs, Equalizer gives instructors a structured framework for helping women recognize and reduce risk, respond effectively to physical attacks, and better prepare for dangerous situations.
Training addresses personal safety and security awareness along with practical responses to common physical assaults, including grabs, headlocks, bear hugs, tackles, knife attacks, and ground attacks. The program is designed so instructors can deliver meaningful training across different physical abilities and available training time while reinforcing the Equalizer philosophy of being “Prepared in Advance.”
Registration pathways include Full Certification (40 hours), Recertification (24 hours), and an accelerated 8-hour pathway available only to instructors who are currently certified in both Vanguard Level One and Vanguard Level Two.
