HOSTING A FIREARMS COURSE

Thank you for considering hosting an SSGT Firearms course. By hosting our training in your area, your agency and the surrounding law enforcement community can save significantly on travel and lodging expenses, making the training cost-effective.

HOSTING OPTIONS:

HOST OPTION #1 – OPEN REGISTRATION: The agency serves as the host for other law enforcement, corrections, and military personnel to attend the course at their facility. Participation is open to qualified personnel from any law enforcement, corrections, and military police agency. Acceptance of security personnel is on a case-by-case basis.

HOW TO REGISTER: SSGT Firearms participants are to register online at www.gossgt.com (Click on Upcoming Firearms Courses). All participants are to make payments and forward them to:

HOST OPTION #2 – RESTRICTED REGISTRATION: The agency hosts the course exclusively for their department and fills it with their personnel only. This type of registration is restricted to officers of the host agency. Participants are not required to register online.

HOW TO REGISTER: The Host Agency will provide a roster of attendees to SSGT no less than 10 days before the course’s start. SSGT will coordinate with the Host Agency to determine the number of participants and the cost of the training. The agency will make payment for the training and forward it to:

COURSE MINIMUMS & MAXIMUMS:

Minimum: 14 officers
Maximum: 30 officers
2 members of the Host Agency are admitted free for every 14 paying participants.

Open Registration Course Minimum

Checking the box below signifies that I understand and agree that if Open Registration is selected, and I am unable to secure the minimum number of paying registrations 10 days prior to the course start-date, the program shall be cancelled.

Restricted Registration Cancellation

Required Documentation

SSGT Firearms Courses - Current law enforcement, corrections, military police and/or security officers should be prepared to show a copy of valid department / organization credentials.

Advertising

SSGT Defensive Tactics will use the internet and email to advertise the course(s), but assistance from the “Host” with regional program notification to the surrounding Law Enforcement Community is required. A sample informational flyer will be provided via e-mail to the “Host” by SSGT Defensive Tactics for the course(s) selected upon program confirmation.

Classroom & Range Requirements

- A classroom of sufficient size to accommodate students with seating arrangements suitable for taking notes and written exams;
- A firing range and related range equipment and supplies sufficient for the proposed course(s). This includes targets and eye and ear protection;
- First Aid / Trauma Kit;
- Restrooms and drinking water must be within reasonable walking distance from the classroom and range.

Fitness Requirement

Checking the box below signifies that I understand and agree that all attendees to SSGT Firearms Courses must be physically and mentally capable of safely handling moderate to intense physical activity and stress for at least 8 hours per day.
